Responsible – Weleda makes it a priority to be in dialogue with the people who it works with and works actively with individual farming partners to address specific difficulties in country areas by funding education and facilities such as schools or raw material processing sites in small, rural areas. Through organic cultivation of nearly 248 km2 worldwide (the equivalent of 35,000 football pitches) Weleda is taking active measures to improve soil health and to conserve biodiversity.
To raise awareness for the importance of biodiversity, Weleda Australia has been running the Bee B&B Hotel program since 2016 and has gifted over 500 insect hotels and teaching curriculums to primary schools in Australia. The project allows children to learn and observe native bees and the important role they play in our ecosystem.
Weleda use 100% green electricity and approximately 50% renewable energy at production sites in Germany, Switzerland and France. By 2022 Weleda aims to increase its renewable energy consumption to 80%. Rainwater is collected and used for the irrigation of the medicinal plant gardens and biodynamic farming methods employed to increase the formation of humus, which stores carbon effectively.
Subtly scented and silky to apply, calling it stretch mark oil doesn’t do it justice; this is also great for massages, for moisturiser and for dry patches of skin. As well as organic ingredients, Weleda considers every part of the process, including packaging, sourcing and the conditions of those making the materials. This really is skincare with a conscience.
I adore the scent of this beautiful oil and love indulging in a self-massage every other day, especially around my belly and hips. The oil is thick enough to protect and repair the skin while absorbing in the much-needed places.
This oil is great for postpartum skin and is absorbed into the skin easily. It has a delicate aroma that is great for pre and post-pregnant mums. I like how my skin feels after using this: hydrated and smooth. This is also a great preventative for stretch marks.
I used this beautiful oil through both my pregnancies. I loved not only the smell of the oils, but how nourishing they were for my skin. I must admit, I didn’t get stretch marks except on my breasts which is the one place I didn’t think to oil. I found it took away some of the tightness I felt over my skin and also absorbed well so that I didn’t have to worry when getting dressed straight after.
This beautiful oil has been formulated to relieve some of pregnancy’s woes: itchiness, tightness and the development of stretch marks. It smells amazing and is lovely to massage into the belly area, absorbing quite quickly. Love the easy-to-use pump.
