Responsible – The MookieMerino sleep bag’s merino wool and trimmings are proudly certified by OKEO-TEX Standard 100 Class I for babies, and also meets the European REACH standards. The wool is from non-mulesed sheep as certified by Deloitte, and the factory has been audited by Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI).
MookieMerino sources the best wool and gently manufactures it: pure organic wool, 100% natural, antibacterial, hypoallergenic, safe, durable, sustainable, renewable and biodegradable. Only one sleep bag is needed for about 2 years, through all four seasons. Merino wool doesn’t need to be washed often (every fortnight or less), making it even more eco-friendly. The company proudly supports Every Mother Counts, helping to reduce the number of maternal deaths (during pregnancy and child labour) around the world.
I like that this bag can be used for the whole year (no having to guess TOG levels) and up to the age of 2 years old. I also love the natural colour and soft feel of this particular Merino wool. This feels like a really luxurious product, with a sustainable backbone and something that you could keep forever and pass down to babies or friends.
This bag is so soft, incredibly well made and cosy. I was pleasantly surprised that it kept Baby J warm all night as I would generally use a Winter weight sleeping bag until hitting the middle of Summer (Tasmanian weather). I love that Merino wool requires less washing and the fit was perfect. The snap closer on top of both shoulders was also really helpful getting Baby J in and out. Mookie Merino’s approach to slow sleepwear is something that resonates with me and I wish I had known about the brand before having my first child.
Buttery soft, this sleeping bag is of the absolute highest quality. Made from 100% extra fine Merino wool with a wool layer also against baby’s skin, it benefits from all the thermoregulating properties of natural fibres. I really like the double front zips – it makes both sleeping transfers and nighttime changes easy. I also love the poppers at the bottom to shorten the bag for a younger baby.
Both myself and my two-year-old have fallen in love with this sleeping bag. It’s been such a blessing as the unpredictable Sydney Spring evenings switch between warm and cool. I can’t quite get over how soft and luxurious the Merino wool is and neither can my two-year-old – he objects if I try to dress him in any other sleeping bag! Great design too: easy to get in and out of.
