Responsible – Inspired by Dr Tarj Mavi’s unsuccessful search for a natural and organic skincare product to correct the severe melasma (pigmentation) she suffered following the birth of her first child, La Mav was created over 10 years ago. It was the very first 100% natural skincare range of products launched in Australia to use bio-actives (naturally occurring molecules derived from plants) in certified organic products.
All of the ingredients sourced and used in La Mav’s formulations are biodegradable and certified organic. The tubes, jars and boxes are all recyclable and they are in the process of moving to clear lids that will make the entire packaging recyclable.
Their policy of recycle, reduce and reuse is at the forefront of not only how they produce their products, but what comes in and out of the office. There are strict guidelines around recycling all packaging from deliveries through to only using keepcups and no PET water bottles in the office.
With a gorgeous subtle floral scent, I love how this gentle yet powerful oil cleanser removed all traces of makeup, including mascara. My skin is left hydrated and nourished. La Mav have wonderful brand values and so much thought and consideration that has gone into creating ethical and sustainable products and packaging that is gentle on the environment.
Hydrating especially for dry and dehydrated skins. Cleanses off makeup effectively. Rich and easy to use with a facial mitt. With a pleasant scent and easy-to-use pump dispenser, this is also great for travel. The creator of the brand seems both experienced and conscious. I like that they are certified organic, vegan, cruelty-free. La Mav uses recycled packaging to minimise waste. As they don’t contain parabens, talcs, etc so suit sensitive skins. I love their focus on natural and nutritional key ingredients and overall consciousness of their footprint and impact.
Lightweight and non-greasy, this gorgeous oil removes all my makeup including waterproof mascara easily. I have combination skin and am cautious about residue left on my skin, however, any remainder after my second cleanse and rinse (to make sure there’s no makeup/ dirt etc. left) absorbs into my skin so quickly and leaves my skin soft and hydrated and not oily at all.
I love the sweet, fruity scent and non-greasy texture of this simple yet effective cleansing oil. Makeup is removed in just one wipe: leaving skin cleansed and clear with no leftover greasy residue to contend with.
I like that La Mav contains bioactive ingredients which is different from many other brands in this category. It felt lovely to use and left my skin soft and free from makeup. It’s great to hear that they are working on making their packaging 100% recyclable and that they also extend their sustainability practises into their office: right down to using keep cups and no plastic water bottles.
