Responsible – Inspired by Dr Tarj Mavi’s unsuccessful search for a natural and organic skincare product to correct the severe melasma (pigmentation) she suffered following the birth of her first child, La Mav was created over 10 years ago. It was the very first 100% natural skincare range of products launched in Australia to use bio-actives (naturally occurring molecules derived from plants) in certified organic products.
All of the ingredients sourced and used in La Mav’s formulations are biodegradable and certified organic. The tubes, jars and boxes are all recyclable and they are in the process of moving to clear lids that will make the entire packaging recyclable.
Their policy of recycle, reduce and reuse is at the forefront of not only how they produce their products, but what comes in and out of the office. There are strict guidelines around recycling all packaging from deliveries through to only using keepcups and no PET water bottles in the office.
The product is easy to rub in, easy to use pump, and has a very faint scent which isn’t overpowering. Organic certifications are important to me, and the list of things they don’t include are also helpful to know and have in a separate list. I also like their focus around health and wellness, rather than just being a product.
A lovely lightweight lotion that absorbs promptly so that you can follow it up with foundation straight away. Extra points for the pump application. Great to learn that Dr Mavi has been so instrumental in creating the standards and requirements for bio-active ingredients to be incorporated in certified organic products.
This is the perfect anti-wrinkle day cream, it really does give you an instant face lift. I love the texture and the results are apparent especially with continual use. Dr Mavi is a pioneer in this category and I truly resonate with her belief that organic products also need to deliver real anti-aging results. She has worked so hard on including clinically proven bio-actives so we know we are not just getting non-toxic skincare but effective anti-ageing skincare too.
This light moisturiser absorbs straight into my skin with no shine and I can easily apply makeup over it. Suitable for my combination skin, it makes my skin look healthy and I love that it is packed with active ingredients which work to keep it that way.
A highly concentrated day moisturiser: a little too concentrated for my skin but I do feel with extended use you would start to reap the benefits. Contains acai and argan oil to help hydrate dry skin and a combination of ingredients suitable for mature skin.
