The packaging is made of recyclable cardboard and is minimised in size to reduce emissions from transportation. Their cotton storage bag is made from unbleached organic cotton.
OrganiCup started the ‘Global Taboo’ project, where period stories of girls with different backgrounds from all around the world are shared to highlight the different stigmas, problems and approaches women and girls experience.
The company offer samples and informational material to their local community, and have donated cups to sex workers through various partners like WoMena, to medical staff during the COVID-19 pandemic and to City to Sea’s Period Education Program “Rethink Periods”.
This cup is made from firm silicone, which makes it easy to fold and snap back into place. I liked that they’ve chosen not to colour the cup to avoid the need to use additives. The storage bag is organic cotton and the product packaging is made of recycled cardboard (and has a very small footprint) – great to see no plastic used anywhere in this product including shipping.
Ease of use and reduction of plastic waste I love that they are educating worldwide and giving back. They have a great website full of interesting information and I love that they are all about the bigger picture.
I love the shape and size of the small cup and the eco packaging. A highlight is the hemp pouch for safekeeping.
As someone relatively new to menstrual cups, I found this the easiest to remove out of all the ones I’ve tried due to its longer, easy-grip stem. Clearly made from the highest quality materials and come in 3 different sizes, I can’t recommend this more highly.
I love the sturdiness of this high-quality medical-grade silicone cup – it’s quite easy to insert and opens up easily. Also easy to remove thanks to the long removal tip. Holds blood successfully for 12 hours even on a heavy flow. I absolutely love the extra measures this brand takes to help break through the global taboo of periods as well as their contribution to period education.
