Safe – Made from sustainable Carvico fabric. Made from LYCRA XTRA LIFE containing ECONYL, a fibre made using ghost nets and waste from landfill. 78% Recycled Polyamide, 22% Elastane. Oeko-Tex 100 certified.
Responsible – Mother and Sun products have been created using recycled polyester fabrics by Carvico, which is committed to the reduction of ocean waste and education around waste. Its factory also holds a OEKO-TEX Standard 100.
They also make use of fabric waste by creating Swim Headbands from fabric cut-offs. Garments are also created to be high quality, long-wearing products to delay the end of life of the swimwear.
In shipment, the garments are not placed in individual plastic bags. All packaging used in shipping products to customers is compostable including Hero Packaging shipping bags. Mother and Sun is also in the process of moving production to Australia, reducing the environmental toll of shipping products in production.
I can see how the Mother and Sun Mama Bikini Top would be a godsend for new mums. The bikini is supportive for larger breasts while still being flattering. As a bonus, the top is made from a soft fabric that’s a pleasure to wear.
This wonderful, soft and well-made bikini top is designed to give breast support but also allow easy access for breastfeeding. When I’m wearing a bikini, my son sees my toplessness as an invitation for a breastfeed and nearly every bikini I’ve worn doesn’t make it easy at all! This beautiful top has made beach afternoons so much less stressful.
I love both the palm print and the exceptional quality of the material and clasp. Was really easy to pull the bikini to the side and breastfeed my son while wearing it, making it a fantastic bikini option for mamas, especially those with newborns.
