If you have a baby/child with a high risk of a food allergy or eczema, it is not recommended to use this product until they are eating these foods in their diet and show no allergy. Studies have shown a link between the application of a potential food allergen repeatedly onto the skin and food allergen sensitisation. This increases the potential for severe food allergic reactions when the food is actually eaten. This is especially relevant for a child with a high risk of food allergy and also those with eczema.
Responsible – Weleda makes it a priority to be in dialogue with the people who it works with and works actively with individual farming partners to address specific difficulties in country areas by funding education and facilities such as schools or raw material processing sites in small, rural areas. Through organic cultivation of nearly 248 km2 worldwide (the equivalent of 35,000 football pitches) Weleda is taking active measures to improve soil health and to conserve biodiversity.
To raise awareness for the importance of biodiversity, Weleda Australia has been running the Bee B&B Hotel program since 2016 and has gifted over 500 insect hotels and teaching curriculums to primary schools in Australia. The project allows children to learn and observe native bees and the important role they play in our ecosystem.
Weleda use 100% green electricity and approximately 50% renewable energy at production sites in Germany, Switzerland, and France. By 2022 Weleda aims to increase its renewable energy consumption to 80%. Rainwater is collected and used for the irrigation of the medicinal plant gardens and biodynamic farming methods employed to increase the formation of humus, which stores carbon effectively.
I have loved using this face cream on my baby, it soothes and hydrates bub’s skin so quickly. It has a soft and delicate aroma that isn’t overpowering and a little goes a long way. An excellent cream for dry skin!
There is something so reassuring about a business that have been doing natural skincare for as long as Weleda have! This cream hydrated small dry patches on my baby’s face, and pink spots were reduced. I also love that Weleda have their own farms around the world and implement biodynamic practices.
My son has eczema and when he was young I hadn’t realised the trick to managing it was moisturising repeatedly (6-8 times a day!) Whilst we mainly use the mallow version in our house, I love this too, which is a bit thicker and even more moisturising. Perfect for red, dry cheeks in winter and dribble rash. It always heals right up for us with this cream within days.
I’m already a huge fan of Weleda’s calendula baby products but was yet to try their face cream. As with the rest of the range, it doesn’t disappoint! Both my 2 and 4-year-olds have dry patches on the face due to the sudden cold change this week. Upon once application of the cream, all dry patches have resolved and their skin is glowing. Think I’ll try it myself!
