Responsible – Black Chicken Remedies is involved in a number of social and environmental activities. In partnership with TerraCycle, they’ve rolled out a recycling program where customers can return their used containers for a $10 e-gift card, and are proudly part of PETA’s ‘Global Beauty Without Bunnies’ Program.
For the last two years in a row, Black Chicken Remedies has also taken part in the National Breast Cancer Foundation’s Mighty Acts of Pinkness campaign, where special deodorant paste tubs were created as a pay-it-forward gifting option and a minimum of $2 per sold product was pledged by the brand.
To help consumers better understand the meaning of toxic ingredients used within the beauty industry, Black Chicken Remedies created their own guide to natural beauty as a free online download.
I love how pure this oil is. The ingredient list makes total sense to me and doesn’t have a bunch of ingredients in it that I can’t pronounce. I love that Black Chicken are so involved in the recycling of waste and the fact that they give their customers a free $10 gift card to use on their site in return for a used container of their product. Love to see this!
I’m a big fan of the packaging and branding. While the product itself certainly achieves its goals, the thought that went into crafting a premium design whilst adhering to sustainable guidelines is a major win. Aside from the TerraCycle partnership, which I really admire, Black Chicken’s work with the National Breast Cancer Foundation should really be commended. The introduction of the PINK AXILLA product was a really innovative way to show support, whilst also increasing awareness.
A potent organic essential oil blend in a nourishing oil base. It’s amazing the difference that two drops can make! If you have oily skin, I recommend avoiding the nose and chin, however it’s great for the rest of the face and for minimising fine lines.
My husband, who suffers with dermatitis, has been using this product for a few months now, and you can really notice a difference. His skin is so much smoother and less irritated, with far few flare-ups. “It’s not greasy and feels nice upon application,” he says. “My skin, which is usually dry, feels consistently moisturised.”
