Responsible – Black Chicken Remedies is involved in a number of social and environmental activities. In partnership with TerraCycle, they’ve rolled out a recycling program where customers can return their used containers for a $10 e-gift card, and are proudly part of PETA’s ‘Global Beauty Without Bunnies’ Program.
For the last two years in a row, Black Chicken Remedies has also taken part in the National Breast Cancer Foundation’s Mighty Acts of Pinkness campaign, where special deodorant paste tubs were created as a pay-it-forward gifting option and a minimum of $2 per sold product was pledged by the brand.
To help consumers better understand the meaning of toxic ingredients used within the beauty industry, Black Chicken Remedies created their own guide to natural beauty as a free online download.
First Impressions were an instant draw card with their box packaging. I loved the consistency of the brand colours and how the side of the box describes how it is made with eco-friendly ink and recycled materials. When using the oil I found it really hydrating to moisturise my skin with. I was happy to note it didn’t stain my clothes and actually absorbed quite quickly. The scent was nice and subtle, leaving me feeling very smooth and smelling fresh. Overall I found the oil really nice to use.
I love that this body oil soaks into your skin so quickly and it isn’t oily, despite being an actual oil! It leaves your skin very soft and smelling lovely. Black Chicken have taken significant steps to reduce their footprints, I really like the returning of bottles in exchange for vouchers, and I love their work with breast cancer awareness and fundraising.
A magical golden oil which you must breathe in deeply as you apply as its aromatherapy oils are nourishing for both skin and mind. My skin sucks this oil up instantly and I can get dressed straight away. All I am left with is glowing, hydrated skin and the light smell of some gorgeous oils. Love.
The smell is absolutely divine and the branding is very consistent and noticable. It rates highly because they don’t test on animals and they are involved in three notable environmental programs. I also value that you can return the bottle and receive a $10 gift card to re-use. This is encouraging people to recycle and re-use! I also admire the work they are doing on bringing attention to toxins used in beauty products.
A wonderful combination of all my favourites: sandalwood, patchouli, lavender, avocado, coconut and more… The scent is divine. I love the easy to use pump and how easily the oil disperses. Skin is super soft and nourished the next day.
